I would suggest that you look at apps and/or web sites you may have open that are configured to use your webcam.

For instance, if you have an IM client that is configured to make webcam calls, it might be invoking the webcam because of that. Just turn off the webcam in the configuration and it should be OK.

That doesn't mean, however, that you don't have an app on your system that has detected the webcam and is thus invoking it.

You may have to go through several apps to see. I'd start with the app for the webcam itself. It may be configured to start when the PC is turned on.

Exactly the same is happening to me, suddently the Play Camera app is running and shooting photos. I though was a virus but no detection. A fast solution was to change the name of the exe file, so who call the Play Camera cannot find, but the shutter button is out of order. Waiting your reinstall.

Don't know if you've seen this thread already or not but some other folks were discussing the screen turning off and requiring a reboot to fix it also...

Looks like it possibly to do with Vista SP1 and/or intel's gfx driver...

Re: Q1U P Camera Comes On For No Reason..

After at least 3 complete reformat and reinstalls on my QIU Premium Vista Business machine I can confirm that Vista SP1 is the cause for all the problems.

I am now running it in original configuration without SP1 and it runs well.

Now if someone can inform Samsung to do what is necessary so we can install Sp1. . . . . . .
