Thanks ctitanic. I would love to know what the 6 cell battery looks like on the Ultra.

I think that they are showing it at the end of that video. But I'm not sure.

Has a very ergonomic, roundish feel.

Thanks! But how does it look installed? Will the one sidebe bigger on the back? If I put the Ultra down flat, will it lay flat?

    Re: Q1U Accessories

Anyone see other accessories besides the extended battery showing up for sale anywhere. I really want the organizer pak and keyboard for the umpc I just order from Costco (see availablity thread).

The battery is installed on the side, so it acts as an extra grip under your palm. I don't think you can lie the Q1U down, but as far as I know the stand will still work.

    Re: Q1U Accessories

that sucks, i was hoping they would take the OQO approach & just make the unit a little thicker.

I'm not sure about the extended battery, but I wouldn't want the unit to be thicker. To me thickness kills the looks of alot of units.

    Re: Q1U Accessories

I wonder how much Samsung is gonna charge for that external DVD burner -- most likely an arm and a leg.

Luckily I was able to score a Memorex 16x external USB/Firewire unit from Frys for $30 after rebate. It may not be bus powered, but it should go nicely with my base Q1 Ultra (come on Buy.com, SHIP IT NOW!!!!!)

    Re: Q1U Accessories

Is there a Docking station or  a external battery charger available for the Q1? this way the 2nd battery could he charging.

    Thanks.

    Re: Q1U Accessories

Yes, there is a "docking station" although it is just connected to the Q1U by USB and is similar in function to a combination stand/USB hub. It does however charge a spare battery in it, according to a video I saw online and a previous thread on this forum.
    kornel:
Yes, the docking station can charge an additional battery. (it has a slot for the q1u with 1 battery, and then an additional slot for a second battery.

I'm debating if I want the organizer pack or just a nice case (since I already have a folding BT KB).  I hope we see something soon!

    Re: Q1U Accessories

Where can I buy one of these docking stations? I'd like to be able to recharge the six-cell battery while using the three-cell, or vice versa. How expensive is it?

    Re: Q1U Accessories

What I'm still worried about is that there might not BE an organizer pack like the one for the previous q1. Both cases dont look like they have a slot for the keyboard....
