    2GB SODIMM

Has anyone tried a 2GB SODIMM in any of their UMPCs yet?
    I'm curious.

    Re: 2GB SODIMM

This would be awesome in the Ultra, should work I would have thought.

    Photoshop would work nice then.

    Re: 2GB SODIMM

I almost ordered one last week, but thought to inquire with the memory reseller in terms of compatibility and their return policy. They're willing to take the unit back at no charge, so I'll probably order it tomorrow. However, they said the full 2 GB might not be recognized due to the BIOS. I have no idea if the newest Samsung Q1 BIOS supports it, but I'll likely give it a go.

    Re: 2GB SODIMM

Looking forward to the results kevin, like I said the Ultra will be my perfect machine with 2gb. I have big things planned for my ultra.

I upgraded my Q1 to 1gb the day I got it.

    Re: 2GB SODIMM

    My local Fry's Electronics has a Patriot 2GB 533 stick for $149.
Money got really unexpectedly tight lately so I am still waffling on it.

    Dear Daniel,

Thank you for considering Patriot Memory for review on UltraMobileGeek .
We are deeply committed to our customers, and to providing innovative,
top-quality products for reviewers whenever we can.

Unfortunately, at this time, our budget is such that we are unable to
offer products for you to review. Please check back with us in a few
months, as our circumstances may change.

Thanks again for thinking of Patriot.

Guess I'll have to stop by Fry's after work. If it doesn't work, I'll take it back.

I´m praying to see your results! If we can use 2 GB of RAM I think that I´ll keep my Q1 for one year more!

    Re: 2GB SODIMM

Ooh... 2gb of ram... that sounds sexy.

Forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question, but the BIOS is software based right? Then couldn't the 2gb SODIMM be made compatible via an upgrade similar to (or the same) as a firmware upgrade? If it doesn't work, maybe we can b****... erm... complain enough to get them to make it compatible. 2GB of ram would certainly help out a great deal.

We still have not got from them Vista Drivers for current Q1s. Do you think that you will convince them that easy to release a BIOS upgrade to support 2GB? Let's hope that current BIOS already support it.
