i will give you a bad news... the scren have a layer of thin glas about 1mm wich is very fragile... so you do not escape from breaking it - this is the technology .... i was surprised too...belive me....because i broke it! Maybe it will keep you more relaxed but i don't think this case is enough!

It will help im sure unless the screen is dropped directly onto a object where most of the force is directly applied on point of impact .

May be you need a brick instead of UMPC? Bricks have screen difficult to break. Also you can use it as a defence method on dark US streets and if in London. Bricks cost you about 2 quid or could be even found for free on construction yards. Bricks cant float though but can be used as door stopper. Bricks have nice range of colours (from dark brown to bright yellow). Bricks can be thrown on to your boss head with no risk to break the brick. Bricks are Linux frinedly. Bricks are best friend of geeks and nerds. Pick a brick mate!

It is a must to use a protection, I screwed one of my Q1UP recently and had to buy a new one.
Lost all my data too.
This time I bought an otterbox before the Q1UP, though I had to pay more I am sure my piece is secured now.
