Hey all. I finally (a long time after a lot of you here) managed to get hands-on with the R2H tonight.

I'm just about to fall asleep for the weekend now. Its been a crazy week.

    R2H hands-on.

just where do you get all these UMPCs? Are they review units, did you buy all of them, or do companies just give them away to you? If you just get them for free, Know that there's a Tablet Kid just a hundred kilometers or so away. That's willing to do some hard testing and review work for Carrypad...

    Re: asus?

I found a UK supplier with the R2H in stock. They had a delivery of 6 or 7 of them on 3rd October - unfortunately a couple of days too late for me, as I went on my holidays on 29th Sept.

I phoned up today (my first day back!) to see if they still had stock. Yes they do. I'm glad I phoned though, as the girl on politely asked if I specifically needed Bluetooth, as their first batch had been shipped without this built in. As I'm planning to use this in conjunction with a HSDPA phone and a BT connection, I'm afraid it is rather critical, so unfortunately I declined to purchase the 1 they had left in stock. She did confirm it had the Webcam, so isn't the Dutch version that mycom.nl had.

She did tell me that they were as surprised as anyone, and are expecting the NEXT batch to include BT, but unfortunately she didn't know when this would be - just that she had a number of people on her list already to phone with confirmation when the new stock arrives.

Seems very silly of Asus to ship rather "disabled" versions of their product, especially as BT is likely to be quite a key feature for the majority of "mobile" users...!

Still, if they're going to fix this with later batches, so be it - but why ship a small handful of watered-down hardware, when its just going to cause aggro?
