so how is your umpc doing? i decided until they ship i'll live vicariously through everyone else here. ;) lol I still haven't recieved it yet.
Pretty good.
I have had some problems with screen calibration and video drivers.
http://origamiproject.com/forums/thread/11030.aspxhttp://origamiproject.com/forums/thread/11183.aspxThe tech support at TabletKiosk has been very nice and helpful though. This weekend after reporting more video issues, I got a response that they're having several different problems with the Intel drivers and are working with Intel to get them fixed. So that's probably what yours is delayed from.
As for the screen calibration problem, I'm going to getting mine swapped out for replacement eventually, so if it is a hardware defect then that problem will go away.
I have had to do a little workaround to get the SMM popup panel to work after a hibernate. Read
here or
here in case the problem isn't resolved by the time you get yours.
Other than that, I've been quite happy. I just had it with me on a trip out of town on Saturday and used a Holux GPSlim 236 bluetooth GPS receiver and DeLorme Street Atlas 2006 to find a couple addresses on the fly. I've never used GPS other than fun experimentation with friends' devices, nor have I used any in-car navigation products. So I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. Now I just need to finish the in car mount for the thing. BTW that GPS receiver and the i7210 are very nicely color coordinated (black/silver) :).
I've been watching a number of TV shows on it late at night after getting my boy to sleep. I record them on a video capture card on my Mac and then watch them later.
And I'm using MS Journal a lot to take notes where ever I am. It's much nicer than having scraps of paper lying about and you can search them later. After about a week I've gotten pretty confortable using the TIP for handwritten entry and can write a lot pretty fast now with few errors.
