Stefan:
Anyone find out how to rotate the screen? I have found a dialogue once, but haven't been able to re-find it. There is a dialogue in the display set-up, but that one says that my screen resolution is too low..
The way I do it is right-mouseclick on the desktop > graphics options > (intel dialog pops up) > display settings and there's drop-downs for the resolution and some checks to select the rotation (o", 90", 270" etc.) That worked for me, though I only tried it once or twice.
I'll also give the new fingerprint drivers a go. Thanks guys.
Marcel,
- Sometimes the touch screen driver doesn't get loaded or doesn't work
- If you are too quick to start entering your fingerprints after startup strange things can happen. The same if you wait too long.
I've encountered the first one as well. It actually happened the first time I booted the device - nearly soiled my pants thinking the touch screen was busted!
I've also had a funny thing happen with the fingerprint scanner. I was holding the device with two hands with my left thumb just above the left mouse button -- just on the scanner. I've never had a device with one, it's a new device, so I didn't think about placing my thumb. After using it a while, an error started popping up in the right hand corner of the screen, with a little fingerprint scanner icon and failure messages such as 'the image was of bad quality' 'swipe slower', etc. etc. The system kept closing and opening messages like that and the only way to stop it was to shut down the entire system. I guess it's keeping the scanner active even though there's no login taking place. Anyone know if there's an option to disable it whenever I'm not expressly trying to log into the system?
Regarding battery,
My experience is about 1 hour 45 minutes without much tweaking and with average brightness settings, very little WiFi use, etc. For me, it's enough - but I'll probably pick up an extra high-cap battery when available should I need it for longer assignments.
