can someone please test Americas Army 1.6 (latest version)

    found at AmericasArmy.com
theres a flash menu, if you click download it will show you about 10 mirror sites where you can get it.

Thanks this would be a big help because i love this game.

Forget it man! What do you think that you are buying?

    • 3-D graphics card with 128 MB memory and support for hardware transformation and lighting (256 MB video memory for higher detail display)
    • 2.4 GHz processor or equivalent
This devices do not have support for Transformation and Lighting and the morst you get is 64 MB of Shared Memory.

And lets don't talk about processor. ;-)

If you can play this game probably you would see people playing Halo.

About Playing games with a Keyboard attached. I have been looking for games that do not require a Keyboard attached. If you have to carry this keyboard with you to play

Of what mobility you are talking about?
I have not had time to look too much into FPS games but I remember that some of them only required a joystick. In this kind of games you can easily set the few hard keys in your UMPC (in the case of the eo 6 that you can use) and to move around to use the joystick and the keypad of the eo. The major problem is to find a game that works with these video chips, few hot keys and from the HDD.

That was the reccomended specs you were looking at. not the minimum.

  • 3-D graphics card with 64 MB memory and support for hardware transformation and lighting
  • 1.5 GHz processor or equivalent
  • English version of Windows(r) 2000/XP Operating System with all updates
  • 384MB RAM
  • 2.00GB of uncompressed hard disk space for game files
  • 4X CD-ROM (not required for downloaded installation)
  • Windows 2000/XP compatible system (including compatible 32-bit drivers for CD-ROM drive, video card, sound card, mouse and keyboard)
  • DirectX(r) 9.0
  • 100% Compatible DirectX 9.0 soundcard
  • 56kbps Modem  other network connection *Nvidia® nForce™ or other motherboard/soundcards containing Dolby Digital® Content Encoder required for Dolby Digital® audio.

  • and I wouldnt mind using a kb and mouse for games if they were good games that I had time to sit down and play.

    Re: Plays PC games?

A nice freeware game of golf, that works pretty well on my Q1 in 800x600 mode (even if the screen is a bit "enlarged" as is everything in this resolution) :

Unfortunately I didn't find where to download more courses...

    Re: Plays PC games?

Just to confirm, I installed World of Warcraft on my Q1 today, and it is working pretty well (800x600, no need to change resolution before launching the game).

Speed is decent, I'll try to post a video tomorrow.

    Re: Plays PC games?

I also have World of warcraft up and runnng on my Q1. I am very impressed with how well it runs. I found it to be perfectly playable. Not as fast as my desktop PC of course but really not much slower than my old desktop which  had an amd 2000+ and a nvdia 4600.  Actually I seemed to lag out less on the Q1 in the cities than on my old PC.

I also have  unreal turnament and quake 2 installed and they both play as good or better than they did on the desktop PCs common when these games were released.

One game that seems to be perfect for the Q1 is Master of orion 2.  It scales nicely to the Q1 screen and the buttons are large enough for you to use your fingers instead of the stylus.

    Re: Plays PC games?

on the ncsoft website you can download the game lineage for free. you still have to pay online fees, but it said you can set up a free trial offer, long enough to test on a umpc. just click the following link. the game is 1.09 gigabytes. if you have a slow internet connection, i reccomend the next option.

    http://www.lineage.com/download/download_now.html

they can also ship a free no shipping charge cd edition of the game. it will take about 2-3 weeks to arrive. click click on the following link .

KJohn, the minimum still too high for these devices.

    Hi,

In low resolution (the only mode it works in), the ffbench gives me a 1395-L score.

    I have a Q1 with 1GB of Ram.
