Trying to decide between a loaded samsung Q1P or an entry Q1U, which should I go with?
I am currently trying to decide between a nicely loaded Samsung Q1P (original style), and an entry level Q1U. The original Q1 that I am looking at apparently has an intel 1.5ghz (was there a 1.5ghz?), with 1GB of ram and a 60GB HD running on vista business, it also includes a samsung keyboard and case for the keyboard & Q1. I can get it for $600 shipped. Now the Q1 ultra that I would buy instead would most likely be a 800hmz, 40GB model that will hopefully have 1GB of ram. So basically what would I be better off with getting? The Q1P seems like it might be a little faster, however the Q1U seems to be suprisingly fast for its specifications, that and I have been hearing good things about it's improvments. Quite confused at this point...

Re: Trying to decide between a loaded samsung Q1P or an entry Q1U, which should I go with?
The Q1P never had a 1.5ghz CPU, it has a Pentium M 1.00GHz, but it still is faster than the Q1U's 800mhz CPU. However I've had both these units and without question my choice would be the Q1U.
What the Q1U offers over the Q1P outweighs the faster CPU, most important is the Q1P only has 800x600 screen, the Q1U has a much brighter 1024x600 screen that looks so much better. The split keyboard, the dual webcams, faster SD card reader, better battery life by a fair margin, smaller footprint, hand strap, and a is bit lighter IIRC than the Q1P, also runs a little cooler.
I would be careful where or whoever you are buying it from, because stating that the Q1P has 1.5ghz CPU is kind of fishy. Also find out the exact model of the Q1U that you are looking at, because there is are many versions, and you don't want to get one without bluetooth the early version of the Q1U-EL had no bluetooth.

I spoke to the seller of the Q1P and they said that they had mistaken
their Q1's processor specs with a different UMPC that they had or
something along those lines. Anyways here is the current deal for me.
The Q1P is now going for $500 due to the error, and it still includes the keyboard & case.
However there are now two Q1U's that I am looking at.
The first is a 40GB 800mhz Q1U with 1GB of ram running on xp. It is selling for $500.
The second is a 60GB Q1U with 1GB of ram running on vista, selling for $600
Which is recommended out of these?

Hmm those prices are a little low for "new" units, those prices sound a little suspect IMO, the fact that the prices are 500, 600. Are you buying it on ebay or from reputable website. At any rate you need the exact model no which is on the box and the back of the UMPC, like this for example:
NP-Q1U001
Or at least the basic model info which would be:
Q1U-V Q1U-XP Q1U-EL Q1U-ELXP etc...
The 60gb unit Q1U for $600 would be my choice, but thats if you trust the seller.
