Origami Experience 2 Coming Soon!

Hello everyone!

Origami Experience 2 offers "touch-first" experiences for playing media, browsing the web, and reading feeds on your UMPC.  We will be posting OX2 to this site very soon.  We are preparing the final download package and will be working on the site a bit, but we'll have the bits up shortly.

We have shared a pre-release version with our MVPs and we will probably see a few blogs about it.  Brandon LeBlanc has already posted a couple items on the Windows Vista blog site on it.  Take a look!

I'm sure you've heard this request before, but please remove the constraint that prohibits installing the Origami Experience on non-UMPC equipment... :)

I use a touch-enabled Tablet PC (the Lenovo X60t) in much the same way I used to use my OQO Model 02; essentially, as a large UMPC. Having an interface like the Origami Experience would be so nice for the bulk of the time that I'm walking around and poking at my screen!

I really second what kenlefeb said. I use a Dell Latitude XT and I'm looking for a really better experience with touch navigation, praticulary with web browsing. It looks like the Origami Exprience solve this major problem.

It would really be nice if microsoft actually cared about the UMPC market, it seems like they are quite willing to let it be won over by linux Ubuntu Mobile http://www.ubuntu.com/products/mobile works fantastic on my Q1 (with only 1 GB of ram)  and it's not even a finished product. Hopefully this version 2 is worth the wait, I really am a die hard windows fan (really not many of us around)

It would be great if such an interface gets incorporated into Windows Mobile 7

I'd be more than happy running Win Mobile 7 that has Origami and key applications on my UMPCs

Well, I'm surprised that it's not posted here yet, but I came across the Official Origami Experience 2.0 download directly from Microsoft:

Microsoft Origami Experience 2.0

Microsoft Origami Experience 2.0 combines four programs that make your ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC) running Windows Vista even easier to use. Upgrade your UMPC to Windows Vista, and then install Origami Experience 2.0.
